Privacy policy
Last updated 19 August 2026
This policy explains what Linkedit collects, why, and what you can do about it. Linkedit is operated by Linkedit. For anything in this policy, contact support@linkedit.site.
What we collect
Your email address. Used to sign you in and to contact you about your account. We do not send marketing email.
What you put on your page. Your handle, display name, bio, links and contact details. All of this is public by design — that is the purpose of the service. Do not put anything on your page you would not want a stranger to see.
Views and click counts. When someone opens your page we add one to a counter, and the same when they tap a link. To stop those counts being trivially faked, and to avoid counting the same person twice, we take the visitor's IP address, combine it with a secret and store only the resulting hash. We do not store IP addresses, and the hash cannot be reversed back into one. It is discarded after two days.
We count one view and one click per visitor per hour. Nothing is recorded about where a visitor came from, what device they use, or anything they do after they leave. The counts are totals per day — there is no record of individual visits.
Music players. A page can carry a Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud or YouTube player. Nothing is requested from those services until a visitor taps the player — until then no request is made and they are not told the page exists. Once tapped, that service loads its own player and can see the visitor as it would on its own site, under its own privacy policy. We send it the address of this site and never which page the visitor was on.
What we do not collect
No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cookies beyond the one that keeps you signed in. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone for their own purposes.
Who processes it
We use Supabase for the database and sign-in, and Vercel for hosting. Both process data on our behalf under contract. Some processing happens outside the UK; those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place.
How long we keep it
Your account and page contents are kept until you delete them. Delete your account and everything is removed immediately — profile, links and click counts. There is no recovery period, so be sure before you confirm.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Deletion is built in: sign in, open your dashboard, and use Delete account. For anything else, email support@linkedit.site and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so on linkedit.to before the change takes effect.
